Large numbers 11 Temmuz 2013

I hope your extensive reading is going well.  If you missed it check out yesterday’s post for the article.  Tomorrow I am going to begin posting a few questions and vocabulary items from that article.  But for today, I wanted to address the issue of numbers.  When learning a language they are one of the hardest features to become fluent in.  While small numbers are easy, large numbers can become extremely difficult.  Today’s resource, although originally designed for academic English is as relevant to Business English, or any form of English where you have to start referring to large numbers.  This resource is a blog post from a blog called ‘Our place’.  It takes you through how to say large numbers, the differences between American and British English when it comes to saying large numbers, and also has exercises where you can practice recognizing large numbers.  To explore large numbers visit http://ourplace.edublogs.org/listening/.
