In Turkish when you want to tell someone that they ‘have to’ or ‘must’ do something, you use ‘meli’ and ‘malı’. However, in English we have quite a few modals of obligation or phrases to express the same thing in Turkish. Some are stronger than others. Today, I am going to set you a challenge. I want you to look at the modals verbs and obligation phrases and order them from the weakest to the strongest. Here are the modal verbs and phrases:
* You can come to the office tomorrow.
* You must come to the office tomorrow.
* You should come to the office tomorrow.
* You have to come to the office tomorrow.
* You ought to come to the office tomorrow.
Good luck and I will be back tomorrow with the answers.
